Visual feedback.
Introduced by Edwin H. Armstrong in 1913, the term “feedback” designates a system for regenerating signals. Indeed, when a microphone is pointed at a speaker to which it is connected, a shrill sound - that can be modulated with precision - is produced. Similarly, when a camera is pointed at a monitor, the screen broadcasts an infinitely looped image of itself.
